Must Try At Home Valentine's Day Date Night Ideas

While there are many more than just 10 ideas for at home Valentine's Day date night ideas, these are my personal favorites. All ten of these ideas are things I have tried myself or things I have on my list to try. They are cute activities that allow for the perfect blend of bonding and fun. So without further ado, let's get to it.

1. Do A Puzzle Together

Puzzles and a glass of wine sounds like a nice relaxing evening. Well, to some people anyway. For me personally, I despise puzzles but that is because I lack the patience to complete them. However, a photo puzzle of me and my husband I think I would thoroughly enjoy. Shutterfly allows you to create a puzzle out of one of your favorite photos. Now that seems romantic and fun.

2. Have A Home Spa Day

I know these seems like it is more for the ladies but fellas trust me, this feels fantastic for you too. I convinced my husband to let me give him a pedicure the other day and he was amazed. Whether you want to do facials, massages, pedicures, or a combination of all three, nothing says relaxation like a spa day. While others are out stressing over finding reservations you can order your favorite food in and relax with one another. Honestly this sounds divine and like a fantastic at home Valentine's date night idea.

3. Enjoy A Romantic Bubble Bath Together

Granted, this option only works if you have a big enough tub. However, if you do this is a simple and romantic option for an at home Valentine's Day date idea. Buy a bouquet of roses, preferably from somewhere like Costco that won't break the bank, and drop some petals in the tub. Add some Dr. Teal's Epsom salts and bubbles, like some candles and call it a day. If you want to get fancy with it, get a little bath tray and load it up with fresh fruit, chocolates, and a glass of wine.

4. Create A Home Theater

Blow up an air mattress and get comfy! Put on some comfy jammies, throw on your favorite movie and make an epic snack board together. Try to recreate your favorite movie theater snacks. We are talking buttery popcorn, yummy candy, and maybe a giant Icee. What makes this even better is it is just the two of you, you get to be in PJs and all stretched out, and you can pause the movie if you need to go to the bathroom. You can even make it a movie marathon if you can't agree on one particular film.

5. Make It A Game Night

Now, you have some variety here. If you are the more innocent type your typical board games will do and are a great time. If you want to take the opportunity to spice things up then you can purchase some more intimate games that encourage connection in a variety of ways. One of our favorite games forces deep conversation and is called The { } And -Couples Edition-. This is, in my opinion, one of the best at home Valentine's Day date night ideas. This game encourages meaningful connection and asks some hard hitting questions. It has helped my husband and I connect on deeper levels and really strengthen our communication. Make a snack platter, pour some wine and get ready to get deep.

6. Do Some Scrapbooking

Nothing says romance like a little nostalgia am I right? Relive your favorite memories and make them into a scrapbook. Grab some of your favorite photos off of your phone, send them to CVS and print those bad boys out. Then arrange them in a scrapbook in any order you like. Extra points if you have special tokens from that day. For example, concert tickets or maybe a key card from the hotel you stayed at. A seashell from a beach you visited...you get the picture. It is a nice way to bond over your favorite memories and a perfect at home Valentine's Day date night idea.

7. Get Artsy

Try painting together. You don't have to be artistic for this to work. In fact, I found that the less artistic you are the funnier it can be. You can try a variety of things. You can paint each other, and reveal the final product when done. Or you can work collaboratively on a scene together and enjoy the final product. You can hand make each other romantic Valentine's Day cards. You could even sit in front of the fire with adult coloring books, the options are endless.

8. Make It A Themed Night

Everyone loves a good theme night! Pick a theme and go all out with it. For example, my husband and I met in Mexico, so that place is very special to us. Perhaps our theme would be a Mexican night. We could cook tacos, and have traditional music playing in the background as we make margaritas. Then we could relive the moment we met at the hotel pool. Afterwards we could watch Coco and maybe look back on some of our photos from the trip. You can make the theme as broad or specific as you like, but having a direction for the planning of the evening can make it more entertaining. This is definitely a unique and fun at home Valentine's Day date night idea.

9. Do The Blindfold Challenge

This is a challenge for those who are bold and brave. You blindfold your partner and have them experience the other four senses without their sense of sight. So you find objects around the home for them to touch, smell, taste, and hear and they have to determine what it is. You can keep this game as innocent or as....intimate as you would like. You could even make it a challenge. Maybe whoever gets the most correct answers wins a prize of their choosing. The options here are endless and it is a great way to connect.

10. Create Cocktails

You can spice up the holiday by making cocktails together. Want to make it even more romantic? Have your partner make you a personalized cocktail and you make one for them. For example, if my husband was a cocktail he would be some sort of smoky whiskey. However, there would also be a hint of peach in there and some sort of fresh citrus. Maybe I would call it ....Smoked Peach Citrus Whiskey ...okay so I need to work on my naming but you get the idea.
