In 2015, on June 18, Toby Keith was inducted into the national Songwriters Hall of Fame. It was a well-deserved spot for him, who consistently wrote incredible songs. Toby Keith's official social media platforms posted the ten-year anniversary of his accomplishment.

Facebook, the accounts wrote, "10 years ago, Toby was welcomed into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York. During his acceptance speech, Toby said that this award was "the only thing (he) ever wanted."When he took the stage for his acceptance speech, he opened things in a very Toby Keith way, "well, holy s--t."
Toby Keith Tipped His Hat To His Most Important Influences
In his heartwarming speech, Toby Keith made sure to thank everyone that helped him on his way, including his family. But not before saying just important the award was to him.
"There's many award shows out there for artists," he said. But among "all that stuff" he won, "none of that means anything to me anymore."
"This award tonight, is the only thing I ever wanted, and thank you for making this possible for me."
He revealed that one of his most iconic lyrics, "I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once
as I ever was," was a line said by his dad.
"My mother sang, and my dad had incredible wit," Keith said. "He was like WIll Rogers, he could sum it up that quick." He then revealed that the iconic line was one one of his dad's. "So, those things are in my songs."
He also shared that his grandmother owned a nightclub, that had brilliant band playing every night. She was a "hero" of his, and every night during one summer, he'd watch them play and imagine him doing the same.
His past is what made him the man everyone adored. He is still being missed in the industry, over a year after his tragic departure.
