101 WWII Veteran Gets To Celebrate Birthday Milestone And 75th Wedding Anniversary

These are the stories I love covering. The ones that make your soul smile. Mr. Anthony Simone has what most of us want — an incredible marriage and a long, happy life. Mr. Simone was celebrating his birthday surrounded by loved ones, including his wife. He held her hand at her bedside as his family sang to him.

He stated, "When I married her my whole life changed." Then the 101 WWII veteran shared that they will be married for 75 years this coming May 6th. It is clear that he is looking forward to celebrate his marriage with his wife.

Then, his wife, MaryAnn shared her two cents on their successful marriage. She stated, "We had a really, really good marriage — 75 years and more, God help us." Honestly I got teary-eyed watching the pair of them. Not only have they had 75 years together, but 75 good ones! They have reached a ripe old age and are still completely in love and hoping for many more years together. It is the kind of life and love we all dream of.

A Look Back For This 101 WWII Veteran

When speaking with 6 ABC Philadelphia, Mr. Simone shared some of time in the war with the news channel. He shared that he served in the second world war in the anti-aircraft battalion in 1942. He served in that war for three years. Then he shared details from his time in the Battle of the Bulge. It was truly remarkable.

What is also remarkable is how wonderful Mr. Simone looks for being 101 years old. In my opinion, he doesn't look a day over 85. Perhaps it is that epic love that he still shares with his wife MaryAnn that keeps him young. That and the fact that the 101 WWII veteran doesn't think about age much.

People Magazine shared his advice. "That's what I try to tell people," he began, "don't think of age." Instead, he offers this advice, "Just take your life as it comes along." What better way to take life than with your favorite person by your side?

Anthony looked down at his wife and said, ""I love you with all my heart and my soul, and I'll always love you until the day I die." I cannot wait for Anthony and Maryann to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary together, I hope it is the most magical one yet.
