A 15-year-old kid started his own lawn care business when he owed his mom some money in a brilliant case of taking initiative.

Henry, a Nebraskan kid, took matters into his own hands when he owed his mum some money. He needed a part to fix an engine, got his mom to buy it for him, and started a whole lawn care business when he set out to pay back his mom. What more could you ask of the kid?
His mother, Eva, posted a long thread to X which tells the full heartwarming story. She is incredibly proud of him, and many have taken inspiration from his relentless go-getter attitude. So if you're in need of a pick-me-up, here you go.
Henry owed his mom $205 for a flywheel he needed for a "hit n miss engine" he was restoring. Within a day, he'd already gathered $180 after he "he fixed up a few motors he had laying around."
It's unclear whether he was repairing the motors for others or if he went on to sell the motors. But it's already impressive that this 15-year-old has these capabilities. But this is only the beginning of the story.
Henry Builds A Business To Pay Off $25 Debt
With $25 still to pay, his mom suggested Henry look for a job. But he didn't want a normal job, he wanted to be a handyman. Making repairs, mowing grass, what have you.
So that's exactly what he did.
Less that half an hour after deciding he wanted to mow lawns for a living, Henry gained his first client. Someone Eva knew reached out and was interested.
Unfortunately, the client's lawn was too big for push mowing, but that didn't deter Henry. "He said well I don't have a zero turn but I can get one!" Now that's the spirit. "He made a few calls to one of his teachers he had repaired a mower for about a month ago."
His teacher gave him the number of someone who hooked him up with a zero turn for $75.
And now... the kid has a mower, worked out a "great" weekly rate, and has began his handyman career.
"He is only 15 years old and he has life figured out. He will not settle for a boring matrix job I was actually pushing him to do. He only wants to live in his passion and do the things he LOVES. He seriously glows in situations like this. I was in complete awe," his mom wrote.
I hope this kid inspires you to just get out there and make things happen.
I just hope he also gets clued up on taxes and employment, or the IRS will also be taking initiative...
