Maria De La Rosa, a Latin singer who goes by the artist name DELAROSA, was shot and killed on Saturday, November 22, in her vehicle in the San Fernando Valley. She was 22 years old.

The incident occurred around 1:30 am on Bryant Street when two suspects were seen approaching the vehicle. Shortly after, multiple rounds were fired into the car.
Apparently, the Latin singer wasn't the only one who was ambushed. Police reports say that "multiple rounds were fired at several victims who were parked in the area in their vehicle."
All the victims who were fired at were struck, and two of them remain in the hospital this morning. One of them died after being taken to a hospital immediately after the incident occurred. The dead victim turned out to be DELAROSA, who police later identified in a statement on Monday. The singer sustained gunshot wounds from the incident before passing away in the hospital.
So far, no arrests have been made. Police think the incident may be gang-related, but are still investigating.
Maria De La Rosa's Career Was Just Getting Started
Maria De La Rosa, who had over 40,000 Instagram fans, released her first song, "No Me Llames (Don't Call Me)" in August of 2025. Based on her recent posts, the singer had plans to make more soon. A post put up three weeks ago shared the caption, "Ocupada cocinando en el Stu ?????no me llames ??? Ya es tiempo... GAME TIME BABY."
A woman named Deyaniara De La Rosa, who appears to be related to the singer, reshared multiple Instagram stories, including messages for the late singer. One was from a man named Devin Christiansen, who said he met her "at his lowest."
Christiansen revealed that he'd met De La Rosa at the gym when he was looking for a breakthrough in his singing career. Apparently, she helped him find a good agency to get him on his feet.
"I am truly sorry for your loss. God has received an angel. I remember how much you would talk about her future and how proud of her you were," he shared. "In this time l ask for all of you to pray for her and the family. No words can ever express this type of loss and pain. God I ask you to lay your hands on this family and guide them through peace."
