3 Incredible Duets for the Ages Featuring Kris Kristofferson

Kris Kristofferson is praised as one of the greatest country singers ever. He had a talent for songwriting, and a knack for singing. What I appreciate him the most for, however, are his duets. And he's had many throughout his career.

I've have gone back through memory lane (and watched way too many YouTube videos) and have gathered three of the greatest duets Kris Kristofferson has performed. I'm sure you can't have watched them all, so come and sit a while. Let Kristofferson serenade away your woes.

Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends

Kris Kristofferson often performed duets with his country star wife, Rita Coolidge. They were married for seven years, separating in 1980. It's sad to know that they performed "Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends only a couple of years before their divorce in 1978.

The rendition above (which is my favorite, by the way), was performed on Johnny Cash's Christmas Show. They were beautiful together. I could listen to them all day.

Sunday Morning Coming Down

Funnily enough, another of my favorite Kris Kristofferson duets comes from the 1978 Johnny Cash's Christmas Show. This time with the man of the hour himself. Kristofferson was just on a roll that evening, I suppose.

Together, they performed "Sunday Morning Coming Down," a song Kristofferson wrote himself. Before the song, Johnny Cash gushes over the song, making Kristofferson brim with pride. It's so incredibly sweet seeing them perform together, knowing just how much it meant to both of them.

Help Me Make It Through the Night

I don't really know why, but Kris Kristofferson performing "Help Me Make It Through The Night" with Sinead O'Connor just hits different. The pair performed this duet in 2010, on the Saturday Night with Miriam show.

This duet was a powerful moment between the two, especially considering how he stuck by her side during the backlash she received after her controversial 1992 Saturday Night Live appearance. Not only do they sound beautiful together, but there is so much respect and support on that stage.
