Some are unreleased, while others have already been dominating the charts for a while. Here are my potential picks for 2025's "song of the summer": country edition.

1. Shaboozey - "A Bar Song (Tipsy)"
Although multi-genre artist Shaboozey had been making music since 2014, he gained significant notoriety when he released "A Bar Song(Tipsy)" in April of 2024. Its spring release earned it "song of the summer" status then, reaching #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs chart. With it still being a sing-along favorite a year later, we think it could be a major contender for "song of the summer" a second time around.
2. Zach Top - "Good Times and Tan Lines"
Along with announcing his upcoming album, Ain't In It For My Health, in late June, Top debuted the release of the first single off the album, "Good Times and Tan Lines". Delivered in true summer fashion, he first played it live at CMA Fest 2025, and fans think the title makes it the recipe for the perfect summer hit. The week it was released, it was the most-added song on country radio, so it's clear that fans are eager for more from Top. They're in luck, because not only did the country singer bring us a song of the summer, he might deliver an album of the summer on August 29.
3. Luke Combs - "Back In The Saddle"
Luke Combs teased the release of his new song, "Back In The Saddle", in late June, which many fans believe will revisit the party-anthem country that initially drew them to Combs. Dropping this Friday, the song will also feature a music video, which may include NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty. Combs is bringing the heat and the hype with this one, and we're excited to see how fans react.
4. Megan Moroney and Kenny Chesney - "You Had To Be There"
Released in May, just in time for summer, "You Had To Be There" is the third single off of Megan Moroney's third album, which is yet to be released. The song was a special collaboration for Moroney, as it tells the story of her journey from being a college sophomore attending one of Chesney's concerts in 2017 to opening for him on his Sun Goes Down Tour. The song is an anthem for good times, friendship, and the power of good music, and has the perfect amount of nostalgia to make it a "song of the summer" contender.
