An unnamed woman sued Garth Brooks for sexual assault in October 2024. She used to work as Brooks' makeup artist. Allegedly, Brooks raped and sexually assaulted her multiple times. While Brooks has since denied the allegations, it has now been revealed that the accuser had reached out to her attorney back in 2020.

"I first met the defendant...in 2020. I met Mrs. Roe in connection with her legal consultation about potential claims against...Garth Brooks," reads a sworn declaration filed by Hayley Baker, the woman's attorney, and reported by Whiskey Riff. "At the time. Mrs. Roe told me the underlying facts relating to Brooks that are now set forth in the action commenced in California Superior Court."
According to the outlet, the alleged sexual assaults began in 2019. On one occasion, Brooks allegedly showed her his private parts and later raped her in Los Angeles during a trip. The accuser did not hire Baker until April 24, 2024. They contacted Brooks' legal team following the woman's claims. In response, they asked Baker and the woman to "make an offer" to settle the case out of court.
The accuser then proceeded to provide a settlement offer that was to expire in September. If the conditions weren't met, they would sue Garth Brooks. Brooks' team asked for medical records, in an attempt to prove the accuser's medical injuries caused by Brooks' alleged assaults. As the expiration date came, Brooks then filed a lawsuit in Mississippi in an attempt to prevent the accuser's claims from becoming public.
Allegations, Denied
In October, however, Brooks was sued by the accuser. In response, Brooks denied the allegations and then proceeded to publicly name the accuser by re-filing his lawsuit.
"For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars," Brooks said in a statement. "It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face."
"We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides." He concluded his statement by saying: "I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be."
