Sofronio Vaquez: A Favorite Since The Blind Auditions
Back in the beginning of the show, Sofronio Vasquez amazed America with his performance of Mary J. Blige's "I'm Going Down." Within seconds of hitting his first note, this The Voice finalist had Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé hitting their buttons for him.
Reba and Gwen Stefani followed shortly after, leaving this contestant with possibly one of the fastest four-chair turns in The Voice history. The coaches and the audience were all smiles as he hit incredible notes and riffs. Not to mention that Sofronio Vasquez looked like a professional up on that stage.
After his jaw-dropping performance, every coach put up a good fight to try and get him on their team. Perhaps my favorite comment of the evening is when Bublé mentioned, "This dude could sing the phonebook!" clearly highlighting Vasquez's incredible gift. Perhaps it was that comment or his connection to the Philippines that got Sofronio Vasquez to join Team Bublé.

Sofronio Vasquez's epic story did stop at the blinds. He continued to amaze the coaches and the world throughout the show. American Songwriter shares that after his impressive performance of Elvis Presley's "If I Can Dream" he became "the first-ever Filipino contestant to reach a season finale on 'The Voice.'"
Now, after his most recent performance of Sia's "Unstoppable," many people think he is likely to become the show's first Filipino winner. He had the crowd jumping in excitement the entire time he was singing, and the soul that came through with every lyric was undeniable. Not to mention his incredible ability to hold is tone and not sound breathless as he jumped around the stage.
