Tim McGraw Is Producing His Nephew Timothy Wayne's Music: Why He Wanted To Be A Singer

It appears that musical talent is not exclusive to Tim McGraw, as his nephew, Timothy Wayne, is already a rising country artist who appears to be following his uncle's footsteps. And, as any uncle would, McGraw has supported him by producing his music.

"I always wanted to do it," Wayne told Fox News Digital. He told the outlet that he had always loved being on stage, meaning that he never developed "stage fright." "I just never thought I could, and then once I actually had people tell me that I could, and they believed in me, I had to start believing in myself," Wayne said.

Timothy Wayne has already signed a record deal with Universal Music Group and Capitol Records Nashville. He has released three singles during 2024, with the most recent one being "Louisiana Saturday Night," released on December 13, 2024. UMG Nashville has named his influences from traditional country legends such as George Strait and Waylon Jennings to the modern Dierks Bentley and, of course, Tim McGraw. He is also fond of rock 'n' roll, thanks to his father.

His connections in the musical world and his consistent releases impressed the lieutenant governor of Louisiana, who invited him to perform at the Rose Bowl Parade on January 1st, 2025. "I thought somebody was playing a joke on me," he said. "I didn't know much about the Rose Bowl beforehand, but I knew that Lainey Wilson had done it previously."

He described his invitation as "surreal," feeling excited after the governor of Louisiana asked him to represent his mom, uncle, and the state that he loves. "For me, to be invited when I'd just really started making waves, it was awesome," Wayne said. He is also scheduled to perform alongside Lee Brice in 2025.

An Uncle Producer

Both Tim McGraw and Byron Gallimore produce Wayne's music. "When I first really started getting into music later in high school, he told me, he said, 'I'll produce you, but that's it. You have to forge your own path,'" Wayne said about his Tim McGraw. "He's the biggest supporter of this whole idea."

He would also say that he loves being Tim McGraw's nephew and that he would jokingly say that McGraw is "his employee."

Besides McGraw, Wayne's mother, Sandy Howard, acts as his manager. "My mom takes a lot of the stress off my back," Wayne said. "She makes everything go smoothly up to the show and after the show."
