Lee Brice Reveals Garth Brooks Classic Is One Of His Favorite Funny Christmas Songs And Talks Holiday Album Plans (Exclusive)

The holidays are a time for family, feeling good, and also a bit of sadness remembering those we've lost. But the holidays can also be funny and humorous as well. Just ask Lee Brice.

Speaking with Wide Open Country, Brice says that his newest holiday single "Single Bells" has a bit of humor to it. And he's right, the title does suggest a humorous take to the classic "Jingle Bells." But in his hands, Brice manages to bring a mixture of emotions to the Christmas singles anthem. There's a bit of loneliness, sadness, and should I say optimism that should make it a new Christmas classic.

"That song kind of has that in there a little bit," Brice says. However, if there's one song that he turns to in order to lift his spirits and have a good laugh then it's "Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy" by Buck Owens. In particular, Brice is a fan of the Garth Brooks version. He told us, "One of my favorite things is whenever Garth [Brooks] had that, 'Santa looks a lot like Daddy. Daddy looks a lot like him.' That's the first humor I find in Christmas right there if you ask me that."

Lee Brice Wants To Make Several Christmas Songs

Brice also revealed that he wants to have a proper Christmas album at some point. The artist revealed that he's been stockpiling songs for a bit now. At some point, he's going to put them all together and debut his own holiday album.

He said, "At some point. I've been sort of stockpiling them up, and I would like to go ahead and finish that. It's only been a few. So I would like to finish that out in the next year or two, and have a full-on Christmas album."

However, he doesn't just want to stop at one Christmas album. Brice revealed that he wants to go back and sing all the classics as well.

He explained, "One day, I want to go back and just do the classics. I want it to be just me and a piano or me and a guitar. And I want it to be as real and as soulful as it can be. Maybe a couple of Christmas albums, different kinds."

Not a bad idea if you ask me. I'll be the first in line to buy the album.
