At 58, pro golfer John Daly has definitely carved out a niche for himself. That's not only in the golfing world, but in the sports world in general and in the public's collective imagination. Well, yeah, I would pretty much agree. He now sports a bushy white Santa-type beard that reminds me of David Letterman's. He groused about the chilly temps, obligingly signed an autograph or two, and easily landed a putt with one hand. Everywhere on the course, people warmly greeted and hugged him. Despite his advancing age and gaining some weight, Daly's swing is as mighty as ever.
