Mariah Carey Thought It was Too Soon In Her Career To Do An Xmas Album In The 1990s
Good Thing She Eventually Changed Her Mind!
Per foxnews.com via The New York Times, Carey, 55, said, "I felt it was too early in my career." Although she may have quibbled about the timing of doing such an album at the moment, Carey believed she was fated to do one that would serve as "her 'own little magical, merry world of Christmas.'"

Carey described doing that album this way. "I focused on all the things my mother struggled to create; all I needed was a shower of glitter and a full church choir to back me up," Thus the Queen of Christmas began her magical reign.
