Patrick Duffy Starts His Mornings With Champagne And Tequila

Champagne and tequila sounds like the start of a vacation morning to me. However, for Patrick Duffy it was just another day on the job. Fox News shared that in an interview Duffy opened up about some of the antics he and his cast members would get into.
Apparently, it was not uncommon for them to "pop a bottle of champagne before filming." While that might not seem out of the ordinary later in the day, keep in mind this was his morning routine. In the interview, Duffy admitted that his call time would usually be between six and seven in the morning. I don't know about you, but the only thing I am thinking about that early in the morning is a hot cup of tea and hitting the snooze button.
The star admitted, "I would pull in to MGM. We'd park the cars. We'd go to [Larry Hagman's] room. We'd open a bottle of champagne." However, the stars didn't only limit their drinking to the morning.
Champagne In The Morning Tequila In The Evening
While champagne was the flavor to set the day, tequila was the flavor to end it. Duffy told Fox News that they would end the day with a little tequila before wrapping up. He said, " We could judge when the show was about to wrap for the day." He continued, "When we knew it was the right time, we would catch the prop guy's eye...and then magically a styrofoam cup would appear."
While Duffy admitted that he wouldn't drink anymore throughout the day after his first glass of champagne, others would. He even admitted that one costar would have three of four bottles of champagne by the time filming was done for the day.
There must have been a method to the madness because Dallas was considered a highly popular television show. Perhaps Patrick Duffy and his costars cracked the code. If you want to be successful just start your mornings off with champagne and tequila...not really.
