Country Music Festival Still Hasn't Refunded Fans Money After Hurricane Milton Caused Cancellations

The Country Thunder music festival was canceled back on October 11, 2024, due to Hurricane Milton. More than two months later, fans have not received their refunds after being promised that they will have their money back by December 26. Now, the organizers are not answering their calls.

The music festival, which was scheduled for October 198 to October 20 at Kissimmee, Florida, was understandably canceled due to the weather conditions stemming from Hurricane Milton. The Osceola Heritage Park was in no condition to hold the event, so they canceled the event and promised to issue refunds.

Two weeks ago, Country Thunder told FOX 35 that they were feeling confident that "the tickets will be refunded no later than December 26th." However, fans, including concertgoer, Meghan Messier, have not received their refunds, and Country Thunder appears to be avoiding their calls.

No Refunds

"I haven't received a single email stating a receipt of any refund processing, and I don't have anything showing in my account as being processed either," Messier told FOX 35. Messier had been trying to contact Country Thunder for weeks. Last week, Country Thunder's automatic response told her that they were "busy assisting other fans."

However, when contacting the organizers this week, she heard the following message: "Thank you for calling Country Thunder Music Festivals. Our offices are currently closed from December 21st to January 5th." Again, Country Thunder said previously that they were going to issue refunds "no later than December 26th."

Messier was understandably irritated by the whole thing. "I'm not panicking, but I am irritated because you said December 26th, there's no money," she said. "Stop saying things if that's not what you mean."

According to FOX 35, Country Thunder's delay was due to time-consuming manual verification of each client's payment methods and chargebacks.

Concert Canceled

Country Thunder announced the festival's cancellation on their social media by issuing a statement.

"We have worked closely alongside Osceola County Emergency Management and Osceola Heritage Park to assess the venue," the statement reads. "It has been determined that we are unable to safely hold this year's Country Thunder and must inform everyone that this year's event has been regrettably canceled due to factors outside of our control."

Since then, the organizers have continued to promote other music festivals. These 2025 festivals will take place in states such as Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and even Florida.
