Luke Bryan Ponders When And If He Would Retire: "D--n, That Was Fun!"

Luke Bryan, 48, has openly reflected on retirement and if he'd ever hang up the mic and enjoy the riches he's earned. Although it doesn't seem anywhere near, retirement is on the horizon.

The legendary country singer stopped by Taste of Country Nights to talk with Evan Paul. Bryan has had a glowing career and has accomplished many things. He could probably retire now and have both the funds and accomplishment for a satisfying and relaxed ride to the end.

Evan Paul asked Luke Bryan what's left for the singer to accomplish in his career and life in general. And his answer is pretty on-brand.

"I want to be happy. Really try to harness and enjoy what's happened in my career," he replied. He does have a lot to be happy about.

"You know, you've heard the stories of becoming an old curmudgeon as you get older, I don't wanna be that. I wanna have fun and have fun with this career and look back and say, 'D--n, that was fun!'"

His career in country music has been full of achievements and fun, so enjoying the rest of his years in the field as a cornerstone should be as enjoyable as it is easy.

Luke Bryan Doesn't Want To Become an "Old Curmudgeon"

Luke Bryan has things to keep in mind to combat becoming old and bitter.

"Don't be bitter about any of the ups and downs and just make sure I wake up every day and try to become a little bit better singer and songwriter ... and spend a little more time with the family," he said.

Always striving to improve will always keep one satisfied with their work, and it'll prevent them from becoming arrogant sticklers.

I'm sure Luke Bryan has nothing to worry about in this department. He's already a delightful man so not suddenly becoming a cantankerous old man shouldn't be a challenge.

Spending time with those you love will always help, too. I'm sure at this point in his career, he can afford more family time.

Although retirement is not on the cards, it is something everyone thinks about when they approach the big 50. Not that his fans are ready for this conversation.
