Wake Up Call: Keith Urban Is Challenging You To Reclaim Your Life With New 'Straight Line' Single

Keith Urban has a message for his fans with his new single. The 57-year-old announces he is releasing "Straight Line," from his latest HIGH album, as a wake-up call for his fans.

"It's a song that is really about recognizing that life can sometimes just become monotonous and routine," Urban explains. "For me too, for so many people. It can happen slowly. You're doing your job, you're showing up Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday, whatever it is, day in, day out. It's like rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. You're doing it and you're being responsible, but slowly but surely you're like, 'My life is not so great. It used to be really fun. What the hell happened?' Because it's life."

The husband of Nicole Kidman has been part of country music for more than 25 years. More than most, he understands why people get so boggled down with the mundane details of life. Still, he insists that isn't an excuse to stop enjoying life.

"You've got to work," Urban says. "You've got to pay the bills. You've got to take care of things, but it can start to lack color. I wanted a song that was like an alarm clock going off to kind of wake up all of us and reclaim our life really. That's what 'Straight Line' is about."

'The High Tour'

"Straight Line" is from Urban's latest HIGH album, released in September. The sober singer will hit the road in May to perform his current single, and plenty of other hit songs, on his The High Tour.

"Playing live is what I live to do," says Urban. "Looking out from a stage and seeing people singing, forgetting about all the stress in their lives, cutting loose, and feeling ALIVE - that's what it's about for me. Lots of hits, new songs, things we won't even think about until we're onstage - and loads of guitar. We're gonna make this tour the best night of your life!"

"Straight Line" follows Urban's latest single, "Messed Up As Me." He will be joined on tour by Chase Matthew, Alana Springsteen and Karley Scott Collins.
