Ellen DeGeneres Makes Return To U.S. After Leaving For The United Kingdom

Turns out us Brits didn't want Ellen DeGeneres either, as she returned to the U.S. after looking to retire in the countryside of England with her wife.

Ellen Degeneres called it quits at the age of 66 after allegations of creating a toxic work environment soured the public opinion of her. Along with her wife, she packed up their Montecito, California mansion and made their way across the pond.

She clearly had dreams of lush English countryside and cozy pubs in mind. Ellen DeGeneres and her wife snapped up an impressive multi-million-dollar farmhouse, along with 43 acres of land. She truly became the landed gentry.

The Cotswolds, where Ellen DeGeneres and her wife moved, is a rather lovely patch of England. It is the quintessential British countryside people dream of. Rolling green fields, quaint villages from bygone ages, and years of small-town politics wait around every corner. She could eat a Sunday roast in a new pub every week of her life, and never try the same one twice.

Jolly Old English Isn't Enough To Keep Ellen DeGeneres From US Shores

Despite the cold but beautiful climes of the UK, Ellen DeGeneres has been seen back on U.S. shores. Leaving behind her multi-million-dollar mansion, nestled in the fields of the Cotswolds, she has been sighted back in California.

Despite saying she planned to never return following Trump's election, she obviously has unfinished business. She was snapped visiting the luxury retirement home Casa Dorinda. Although it is not known who she was visiting it is expected that it will be her wife's mother.

It is speculated that Ellen DeGeneres may have moved her wife's mother to the luxury retirement home. This would explain why she was there. However, how long she will be over on U.S. soil is anyone's guess. Maybe the endless rain, cold, wind, and countryside gossip has got a little too much.

I certainly wouldn't give up a Californian hillside mansion complete with pools and helipads for the English mud. Maybe she wants to see the sun more than once a year. It looks a lot better on the postcards, I assure you.
