Billy Bob Thornton Became a Father Figure to One Cast Member on 'Landman'

Workplace proximity will have you forge lifetime bonds with some of your coworkers. Oftentimes, you go through the insane stress together and naturally become closer as a result. Who else do you talk to, where else can you vent frustrations when you're on the clock? Usually, this is especially true in retail situations or any high stress environments. Apparently, this is true of television as well, where Billy Bob Thornton is apparently taking on the mentor role for one actress.

Recently, Michelle Randolph spoke with PEOPLE Magazine for an interview. She plays the 17-year-old daughter of Thornton in Taylor Sheridan's Landman. During the interview, she expresses the mountain of nerves and anxiety she faced before heading on the show.

However, her costar Billy Bob happily took on the responsibility of looking out for Randolph on and off screen like a father figure. "I just had no idea what to expect," she says. "I had heard incredible things about him, and so I was excited to meet him, but obviously I'm like, 'Okay, this is someone I'm going to share a lot of scenes with for a really important show. It's something I care a lot about. I just hope that we have a good dynamic.'"

Billy Bob Thornton Acts As a Role Model for Young Landman Cast Member

Thornton isn't the only one acting as a parental figure for Michelle Randolph either. Ali Larter plays as mother to the young actress and wife to Billy Bob in Landman.

Apparently, she's just as welcoming and reaffirming to Randolph. "I'm not kidding you, immediately, we clicked. We had an hour drive back to where we were staying and we didn't shut up the whole time. I think that kind of just defines our relationship," Michelle says. "And she lived two floors below me in where we were staying, and so it was like we lived together, we were playing, I'd see her every day. She's just stuck with me," she says. "Every day I got to be on set with her, it was like I wasn't at work."
