Not only was she ecstatic to wear cute swimsuits, and be on the cover, but she was excited for the opportunity. While the opportunity of being on the cover of Sports Illustrated is exciting in and of itself, she was also excited for another opportunity.
She saw this as a way to "reclaim" herself. After her split with country star Zach Bryan last fall, it seems like the perfect time for her to do so. In an Instagram video she shared her thoughts on the new experience. "It means so much more to me than 'I'm feeling sexy'" she stated.
"No one has the control over you to tell you what you can and cannot do," the star continued. " It isn't just like check it off the bucket list that was really cool. It is like reclaiming myself and that is what this all means to me."
She also put rumors to rest that this Sports Illustrated cover was a dig at her ex. The NY Post shares Brianna 'Chikenfry" LaPaglia's thoughts on that as well. She stated, "This is my body; my body isn't that experience, and even though I'm not 100% in it right now, this is me." She continued, "This doesn't have to do with anybody else."
Zach Bryan's Team Offers Hush Money
Brianna's reclaiming of herself started long before her Sports Illustrated Cover. In a tell-all Youtube video, Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia shared the details of her break up with country star, Zach Bryan. She starts the video by saying,"I wanted to deal with my breakup privately but that was robbed from me."
The star admits that she was offered a lot of money to keep quiet about the breakup. She said, "After everything was done, I was approached by his team and offered a lot of money." Then she explained the situation."I would have gotten the money over the course of three years but I would have had to sign all of my experiences, everything that I am to this person. They would have been monitoring everything that I do."
While she thought about it she changed her mind. "They tend to forget and I started to forget that I was established, I was successful before him." Then, she reminded fans, and herself of some key things. " I'm going to be someone... be established...and be successful after him."
She continued with a bold statement. "I don't think you can pay people off, that you've hurt, for them to protect you." Then, she addresses the rumors that she accepted money. "I did not accept any money. I will not accept any money." Brianna admitted, "I think that's beneath me. I think it is f'd up."
Details On The Split
However Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia was not here to air all Zach's dirty laundry. "I don't want to nitpick everything he's ever done. I don't want to talk about all the bad sh-t." Instead she just wanted to talk about the ending and her role in the breakup as well. She states, "half the reason this all happened to me is because I let it."
"I kept showing up when I shouldn't have. I kept loving and giving when I shouldn't have."
Then she shared a message to all of her fans. "If you are not getting the love that you are giving, you have to walk away."
From there she details the ending of her relationship with the country star. She "gave up a year" of her life to be with him on tour. Then while he had a two month break, she went on tour for herself. Zach Bryan texts her while she is on her biggest tour ever saying "Actually I cant do this anymore." Which the internet personality said was seemingly "out of nowhere."
Surprise Ending
While she was devastated she mustered the courage to make it through her tour. As soon as she returned home she was met with him saying, "hey it is time to move out." Scrambling for a place to live the star admits that she was dumbfounded.
They had been discussing marriage, building a life where she had grown up and making "video diaries" for their future children. She felt that they were on "two different planets" and had no idea where this surprise breakup came from. She felt they had been on the same page and then, "I [Brianna] went away for two weeks and came home and hear 'pack your bags'."
After reflection the star came to a conclusion."He needs someone who can just be the girl," she stated. However she made sure all her female fans knew one thing, "no-one should ever just be the girl." Fans are rallying behind Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPagila and are supporting her story.
