Fans Adore New Ryan Seacrest Look
Typically, fans have seen the celebrity clean-shaven and wearing a fancy suit. But in this video American Idol posted on Instagram, netizens are responding positively to Seacrest's new look. Instead of a suit, he's wearing jeans and a button-down shirt. Meanwhile, he grew out his beard, and the comments are loving it.
The clip featured Seacrest's mother surprising him on stage in video format, the caption reading "#ryanseacrest gets a sweet surprise!"
"Surprise!" His mother shouted. "It's your biggest fan!"
"Mom, what show is this?" Seacrest asked.
"This is American Idol," she ended the video with, reciting a famous Seacrest quote from when he hosts the singing competition.
The post has garnered over 2,500 likes and over 100 comments, the majority of them adoring the new look. "A good change," one user wrote. "Looks age appropriate and on trend." Another mentioned how different he looked, but he was "still charming as always."
"Bearded @ryanseacrest wasn't on my 2025 bingo card," another fan joked.
Throughout the entirety of American Idol's 22-season run, Seacrest has been its host. The 50-year-old TV presenter started on the show in 2002 when he was just 27 years old. Since his rise to fame, Seacrest has rarely been spotted with a beard, so this new look is a nice surprise for fans.
However, one keen-eyed commenter noticed something off about the clip. "This must be old, he doesn't have a beard now," they mentioned. The American Idol account replied to them confirming their suspicions by saying "It's a throwback!"
We're unsure when they captured this video clip, but we do recall when Seacrest sported a beard in November 2020. He shared a selfie on Instagram with his beard grown out, the caption reading "Post workout. Am I doing this long hair thing right @shawnmendes?"
American Idol's 23rd season will premiere on March 9 on ABC with Seacrest planning to return as its host.
