"My dad is in a hospice and I'm lost for words," Randi Mahomes wrote on her Instagram stories, posting a picture of her dad, Patrick's grandfather. She also included a Bible verse, Colossians 3:20, that reads: "Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord."

Randi has previously shared some updates regarding Randy Martin's health struggles. However, she has not mentioned any specific diagnosis. Now that her father is in hospice care, meaning that Randy Martin will only receive treatment to improve his quality of life as he approaches the end of his life, Randi, Patrick, and the rest of the Mahomes family are certainly preparing to say goodbye to their beloved family member.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Patrick Mahomes has had to face a family loss. Back in July 2023, his grandmother, Debbie Bates, Randi's mother and Randy Martin's wife, sadly passed away following a series of health issues. She was described as a "sweet and kind person" by family and friends. Randi continuously remembers her mom on social media.

"It's been a year since you left us... but I know you're up there smiling down on us," she wrote in April 2024. "Missing my beautiful Momma a little extra today. Her love and light continue to guide me, and I am blessed to have the memories we share."

AFC Championship Game

Patrick Mahomes, while he faces the sad news of his grandfather's health status, is also filled with joy after welcoming his third child, Golden Raye, on January 12. Now, he is preparing to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Should they win the game, they could end up winning their third consecutive Super Bowl on February 9.

On Thursday, January 23, Mahomes issued a rallying cry days before the AFC Championship game. "It's the AFC Championship game. We've got to put it all on the line in order to win and try to get to the Super Bowl," Mahomes said. "And this is a great football team we are going up against. So, I think all of us are going to give everything we have."

"Chiefs Kingdom is always passionate, they're always loud. I would just say let's even take it up a notch. Let's see how loud this place can really get," he continued. "But I always appreciate the support and the love that they show for us. So I'm just excited for another AFC Championship game back at Arrowhead."
