It's always a good day when we see the iconic Clydesdale horses from Budweiser in an ad. The beautiful American horses became a symbol for the all-American beer way back in 1933. Now, they have once again returned for the 47th time. And you know what, I missed them.
The Super Bowl ad spot shows the Clydesdale horses being set up for the journey to the local city. The mighty horses are clipped to a wagon, pulling what else but barrels of Budweiser. But, as they're being hitched, one little Clydesdale foal is left behind. It's not time for the little guy yet.
As the wagon rolls away, the Budweiser ad shows one of the barrels fall from the wagon. But, the Clydesdale foal comes to the rescue. It jumps over the fence and begins pushing the barrel to the local town. Over hills and through rivers it perseveres until it finally reaches its destination.
It's a cute Budweiser ad and a comfortable return to a classic for the company. "Budweiser's Super Bowl legacy is an important part of our brand history, and through the decades, we've secured a place in the hearts of millions of fans with our unforgettable characters, quotable one-liners, and heartfelt commercials," Kristina Punwani, the head of marketing at Budweiser USA said about the ad.
It's a reminder for the many Budweiser fans out there, that they are still a household name.
Meet The Budweiser Ad Clydesdale Horses
You can meet the legendary horses yourself this year. Budweiser will be sending them down to New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl LIX. They will be there a week ahead of the games to meet fans of the beer and the game.
The horses have been a staple of the Budweiser branding for such a long time. It is nice to see them return once again. And, don't worry, no horses were harmed in the making of this Budweiser Super Bowl ad. One or two may have gotten a little drunk on beers though.
