In Friday's episode, contestant Drew Goins competed in the 2025 Champions Wildcard tournament. However, he was stumped by the clue: Sharing its title with an earlier, more upbeat Huey Lewis hit, it was number one for Celine Dion in 1994. The correct answer is 'What is the Power of Love.'
Goins completely blanked, and show host Ken Jennings noticed, exclaiming, "Uh-oh! Oh, she's going to be mad, Drew!" The audience laughs, and Goins looks at the floor before turning and walking off the stage. It was all in good spirits, but it's significant because the contestant actually gave Celine Dion a shoutout earlier in the show.
During a short Q&A at the start of the show, Jennings asked Goins "Who would you like to thank, Drew?" He lists off several names before replying, "John the Producer suggested that I, long story, thank Celine Dion, so, thank you, Celine Dion."
Jennings asks if she knows what she did, and Goins confidently nods as he says, "Yes, she does. Deep down."
When the contestant returned to the stage, he at least had a decent defense ready. Jennings reminds Goins that he has five clues left, to which he replies, "I was born in 1994!"

Goins' on-air blunder echoes some absolute blinders on another popular TV game show, Wheel of Fortune. Back in November, one particular contestant's response went viral, and he'll likely still be kicking himself over this one. The clue on the board was:
'_ _ _ E / _ O U R S E _ F / A / R O U N _ / O F / A _ _ _ A U S E'
Puzzle pros will likely figure out the answer without any clues, and it's 'Give yourself a round of applause.' Our contestant went with the absolute banger, 'Treat yourself a round of sausage.'
