Quentin Tarantino has always talked about that mythical 10th and final film he's going to make. He believes that ten is the sweet spot for his resume, that his creativity in cinema has an unbreakable ceiling. Now that he's close to the finish line, QT has a few disclaimers before he wraps up his directorial work.

Recently, Tarantino spoke at the Sundance Film Festival (captured by Variety). There, the iconic director talks about the current state of film, among other fan questions. Obviously, though, people were dying to know when fans can expect his last movie. Ultimately, he's not as antsy to get his work done. "I'm in no hurry to actually jump into production," Tarantino says. "I've been doing that for 30 years. Next month my son turns 5, and I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. When I'm in America, I'm writing. When I'm in Israel? I'm an abba, which means father."
Quentin Tarantino Not Rushing Into Filming His Final Movie
Additionally, Tarantino wants his son in particular to be old enough to treasure filmmaking and the memories on set. "The idea of jumping on a voyage when they're too young to understand it is not enticing to me. I kind of want to not do whatever movie I end up doing until my son is at least 6. That way he'll know what's going on, he'll be there, and it will be a memory for the rest of his life," he adds sentimentally.
Conversely, Tarantino is already confident that his daughter will understand his own perspective on film. He doesn't doubt for a second that his 'genius' of a daughter will pick it up quickly because that's how she's wired. In the meantime, the Pulp Fiction creator is working on a play. "If you're wondering what I'm doing right now, I'm writing a play, and it's going to be probably the next thing I end up doing," he reveals. "If it's a fiasco I probably won't turn it into a movie. But if it's a smash hit? It might be my last movie."
