Album of the Year nominee André 3000 shocked fans by dropping out of the Grammys at the last minute. He announced on social media that he wouldn't be able to attend the event on Sunday. This comes less than a day before.

The musician is not attending the Grammys, but "some of the New Blue Sun musicians, friends and supporters will be in attendance." He announced it all in a shocking Instagram post on Saturday. The musician is up for album of the year at the Grammys as well as best alternative jazz album and best instrumental composition for New Blue Sun.
He wrote, "Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend the GRAMMYs tomorrow but some of the New Blue Sun musicians, friends, and supporters will be in attendance."

He continued, "Our album was conceived and recorded in Los Angeles with spirit of openness and creative collaboration. We hope that the rebound of Los Angeles is swift and renewing. Congrats to all the musicians and collaborators being acknowledged. Keep playing."
Meanwhile, the Grammys has also spoken out about the musician missing the event.
"The upcoming Grammy Awards won't just be about celebrating and honoring the best in music this year, it will also show how the power of music can help rebuild, uplift and support those in need," Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. previously said in a statement. "We are thrilled that so many artists in our community are banding together at this time to show support for their fellow music makers and others impacted by the recent wildfires."
Despite the musician missing the Grammys, several of his fans are hoping he wins. One wrote, "I'm rooting for Andre 3000."
