After returning home from work, Trevor Hughes, 49, was hoping to get a few hours of sleep before his next job. But, his driveway was blocked by another car. It was 2 am, so he presumed it belonged to one of the patrons of the nearby nightclub.

Hughes went to the club and asked if the owner of the car could move it. Eventually, the owner of the parked car came to his door, and that's when he was shot. According to the neighbor, it all kicked off so quickly.

"The guy goes, 'What's going on? You wanna get it out? I get [the gun] out for you,' and then, boom, boom, boom." The owner of the parked car had shot and killed Hughes over a parking space. He then went on to beat the man's wife senselessly.

Police were called to the scene along with an ambulance for his wife. He was declared dead in hospital only hours later.

Owner Of The Parked Car Is A Know Murderer

Trevor Hughes was shot to death outside his own home over a parked car by a man with a prior murder conviction. Lavar Davis had already served 24 years for murder before shooting the father and husband. The 46-year-old was released in 2019 and was on lifetime bail.

When police came to take him into custody after his latest murder, he barricaded himself inside his home. "When police officers went to find the defendant there he barricaded himself in the apartment and refused to come out voluntarily, requiring the police to send in the Emergency Services Unit to get him out," Assistant District Attorney Lawrence Rozenblum said.

Before Trevor Hughes was senselessly shot over a parking space, he was a hardworking father and husband. He worked two jobs, as a locksmith and as a DJ. He was returning from one job when he was killed by the convicted killer.

His brother lamented the problem that plagues the Bronx. "The thing is it's not just this alone. It's everywhere. It's happening everywhere where you start reporting all these senseless murders of innocent people, kids, innocent kids getting killed."
