Serena Williams surprised everyone when she joined Kendrick Lamar during his halftime show performance at Super Bowl LIX. Williams crip walked while Lamar performed the Drake diss track, "Not Like Us." Celebrated by many, Stephen A. Smith had quite a different reaction, saying that he would divorce her in a heartbeat.

Williams accompanying Lamar was not only significant due to her legendary status as a tennis player. While she never confirmed it herself, rumors and paparazzi pictures tell that Serena dated Drake back in 2011. For that reason, Smith was up in arms on Monday's edition of First Take, where he is a host.
"If I'm married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his a--, 'cause clearly you don't belong with me," Smith said on the show as his fellow co-hosts laughed. "What you worried about him for and you're with me? Bye. Bye."
Smith's words were not received with open arms by his co-hosts. Ryan Clark in particular said, "If you were with Serena Williams, you're going to be a kept man anyways. Don't start that."
Furthermore, many users online began roasting Stephen A. Smith following his statement about Serena Williams.
"Stephen A Smith, who is not married and has never been married needs to focus on his receding hairline and not what Serena Williams is doing," one user wrote. "A 57-year-old UNMARRIED man with a receding hairline who has never BEEN married mind you, saying he would divorce our greatest living athlete who has been happily married for 8 years to her very rich and loving husband," another user wrote.
Husband Reacts
So, what did Serena Williams's husband think about his wife's performance at the Super Bowl halftime show? Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, who married Williams back in 2017, had quite a concise reaction to the show, posting about the Super Bowl on X.
"Kendrick Bowl is about to Kickoff," Ohanian wrote hours before the game started. He would later post minutes before Kendrick Lamar started his performance by saying, "Halftime show about to start and no one has left their seats." Finally, Ohanian reacted to the halftime show and Williams's dance with, "Pretty fantastic halftime show."
As you can see, divorce is the last thing on Alexis Ohanian's head, so we can safely say that Stephen A. Smith went a bit overboard with his not-cold take.
