Only hours before Shakira was due to perform at Estadio Nacional in Lima, she revealed she was hospitalized. The post on her Instagram story stated, "I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized."
This comes as a shock, as it is only the third venue on her huge "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour." The tour planned to cover a total of nine countries around America, covering the South and North. But, now Shakira has been hospitalized, the future of the tour is in question.
Her Instagram post continued, "The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening." However, later in the post, she reassured her fans that it won't be for too long, hopefully.
"I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I'm able to perform. My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you. Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all." So, despite her hospitalization, Shakira should be back on the stage in no time.
Shakira Updates Fans On Health Concerns
Shakira reached out to all her fans, thanking them for their support over her hospitalization. Of course, many people will be disappointed, having waited for her show, but she is a hero, and humble. "Thank you all for your loving messages. You give me so much strength!! I love you with all my heart." she posted to X
"And all of us to you, queen ? Thanks to you, I started to love my voice and singing ? you are going to get better and give a beautiful concert here in Lima, we all know it will be like that," states one post.
Nobody wants Shakira to perform with ill health and risk getting worse. As she has promised, she will be back up, and touring the countries that love her most. She still has many more to go, including Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico.
