Dierks Bentley Shares His Thoughts On The Grammys As A Country Artist: "It's A Very Interesting Awards Show"

Dierks Bentley has yet to win a Grammy. He has been nominated a total of 15 times, including one in 2024, but has yet to walk away with one of the most coveted trophies.

Fortunately, he doesn't really care, either.

"I put zero stock in that," he tells Taste of Country Nights. "In some ways, it's almost more beneficial to be kind of on the outside and not be too inside industry politics and all of that."

This year's Grammy Awards saw Beyoncé walking away with the Grammy for Best Country Album, for Cowboy Carter. While Bentley doesn't comment on that win specifically, he does acknowledge that the Grammy Awards are unique, and unlike any other awards show.

"It's a very interesting awards show, let's leave it that way," Bentley says.

Although the Arizona native truly doesn't care if he ever has a Grammy Award or not, he does say that he is proud of all of his nominations.

"I know this is probably a cliché thing to say, but I'm always honored to be nominated. I mean there's only a few people nominated," Bentley reflects. "They get it right sometimes and they get it wrong sometimes."

Interestingly, Bentley has only won three CMA Awards, his last in 2016.

Broken Branches Tour

Bentley doesn't have time to dwell on his wins or losses this year anyway. He is getting ready to hit the road on his Broken Branches Tour, joined for all dates by Zach Top.

"I'm 20(ish) years into doing this, and I've seriously never been more excited about a tour," Bentley says of the tour. "We had Zach out for a few shows last summer, and I knew right away that we had to do more together. He loves the same kind of country music I do, and he's got the bluegrass chops to hang with the best of 'em in a jam. I've got a million ideas for the set list rolling around in my head. It'll be fun to figure out how to make it all come to life with a new album and new production."

The Broken Branches Tour begins on May 29 in Austin, Texas.
