Parker McCollum has been near unstoppable since striking his first no. 1 hit in 2020. The rising star has hilariously set his sights on fellow Texas country legend George Strait.

His "Pretty Heart" hit five years ago set the ball rolling for Parker McCollum, who recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut album, Limestone Kid. In a recent interview with CMT, he reveals his new ambition.
Humorously, McCollum states that he'll soon catch up with country legend George Strait, who has a whopping 60 no. 1 singles under his belt. That's quite the swollen career, and it seems McCollum is up for the challenge.
"You know, the number ones are just crazy to me," he admits to the outlet. "It never really was a thing. I always knew George had 60."
It's unknown what McCollum was asked, but it was likely to do with how he sizes up to the Texan icon.
"Well, you're never gonna have 60, so ...' Ya know?" he questions, but doesn't stand down from the challenge.
"I guess I never really thought about it too much, then now we have 4. I'm only 56 behind him, so I should be able to catch up pretty soon," he jokes.

Funnily enough, both artists have an incredibly booked year ahead of them, and are even performing together.
In May and June, Parker McCollum is joining George Strait and Chris Stapleton on four stadium shows. Maybe McCollum can get some hints from the legend himself to beat his record.
"I keep trying to slow down a bit but you keep calling me back. Please don't ever stop. I still love it just as much as I always have," George Strait said regarding extending his tour to stadium tour 2025.
"Thank you for an amazing year last year and I can't wait to see you for a few more again this year. Chris will be back and glad to have Little Big Town with us in LA. For the other cities, we've added Parker M. to the show which will be outstanding. Can't wait to see you!!"
