Texas Is Trying To Change The Name Of The New York Strip — What's The Beef?

Since Trump decided to rename the Gulf of Mexico to something that doesn't hurt his fragile American ego, everyone has jumped on the hype train. Now, Texas is trying to lay claim to the New York Strip because apparently, all beef belongs to them.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick decided to address the important issue of renaming a cut of beef to divert attention from the rising cases of measles in his state. According to Lieutenant Dan, the liberal state of New York doesn't deserve to be the namesake of the Strip.

As a result, a poll has been proposed. It hopes to rename the New York Strip to the Texas Strip Steak. If passed, it would require all restaurants and markets to rebrand the beef cut. Infighting in the US has reached quite absurd levels.

Gov. Lieutenant Dan Touched By Texan Cows

According to his X account, Texan Patriot Patrick was moved when he went to a Texan cow farm. It inspired him to try and rename the New York Strip to represent the sheer amount of butchery the state provides for the rest of the US.

"I asked why we didn't call it a 'Texas Strip' because New York has mostly dairy cows," Lieutenant Dan said on his X. "Just because a New York restaurant named Texas beef a New York Strip in the 19th century doesn't mean we need to keep doing that."

In typically Texan pride, he stated, "Liberal New York shouldn't get the credit for our hard-working ranchers. We promote the Texas brand on everything made or grown in Texas because it benefits our economy and jobs."

To add the cherry on his cake of bruised ego, he also wrote, "After the session ends this summer, I might take a short cruise across the Gulf of America and have a juicy medium-rare Texas Strip." He is going to be surprised to find they call it a Chuletón in Mexico.

Trying to imitate the current president's bizarre renaming tactic will hopefully win old Lieutenant Dan as much ridicule as Trump's Gulf rebrand. Such infantile politics have no place in a country that is already in crisis.
