Vince Gill Talks About Crossing Paths With Taylor Swift, Shares Honest Thoughts About Her At NFL Games

Vince Gill has been known for decades to avoid touching on controversial topics. But there is one subject he will gladly talk about: whether or not Taylor Swift should attend NFL games to support her longtime boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs player,Travis Kelce. Turns out, Gill is a big fan of Swift, and is vocal in his support of her.

"She's awesome. I'm crazy about her," Gills tells the Oklahoma Hall of Fame (via Taste of Country).

"I've always been crazy about her and I just laugh when everybody gets so uptight when she goes to football games," he adds.

Gill questions why fans would be upset that one of the biggest superstars in the world would attend Kelce's games in the first place.

"What's wrong with you?" he asks. "Somebody said, 'What do you think about her'? I said 'Hell, they don't cut away to her as much as they do Jerry Jones at the Dallas Cowboys games -- what's the big deal?' ... It's just a girl likes a guy and they're going to a ballgame."

Gill is supportive of Swift attending Kelce's games, but he is also supportive of Swift as a person, and an artist.

"I did the CMA awards with her one year. Myself and Alison Krauss did an acoustic version of her song, 'Red,'" Gill remembers.

"She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen," he boasts. "She's stunningly beautiful."

Vince Gill Celebrates 50 Years of Touring

Gill has been a touring musician for 50 years. The Grand Ole Opry member is celebrating the milestone anniversary, by heading out on another tour. Gill will embark on his An Evening With Vince Gill Tour on May 8 in Rochester, New York. The tour will conclude with four shows at Nashville Ryman Auditorium in August.

"I left home 50 years ago to try and become an accomplished musician, and perform in front of whoever would show up," Gill says. "All these years later, it feels as special today as it ever did."

Gill's tour comes after the Eagles end their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The Grand Ole Opry member joined the Eagles in 2017, taking the place left vacant when Glenn Frey passed away in 2016.
