Carrie Underwood Reveals The Worst Part About Judging On 'American Idol'

Carrie Underwood officially knows everything there is to know about American Idol. As a contestant and winner on the show, she understands personally what it means to stand in front of the judges. Moreover, she knows all the tips and tricks on what it means to thrive within the setting too. Now, alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, Underwood is the one doing the grading. She's one of the people making the hard decisions to move someone on to another round. However, she's not exactly loving this part of the job.

Recently, Carrie was live tweeting her thoughts and reactions to last Sunday's (March 16th) episode of American Idol. There, she laments one part of the job she still can't stand: sending people home during auditions. "Saying 'no' is the worsty worst worstest," she sighs with a crying emoji.

Carrie Underwood Hates Rejecting Contestants on American Idol

In a separate tweet, Underwood emphasizes what an honor it is to be on the show. Additionally, she notes that watching the auditions all over again was quite the treat for her. "Such a great episode of @AmericanIdol tonight. I've already seen all of these auditions and I'm being blown away for the second time. What a blessing to be a part of it all...again," Carrie writes.

This isn't dissimilar to what Lionel Richie had to say about Underwood's debut outing as a judge. Appearing on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, he mentions how she antsy she was about telling contestants they wouldn't move forward. "I have to tell you, Carrie's biggest nightmare was, as long as you can say, 'Oh my God, you go through! Oh my God, you go through! Fantastic! Oh, you go through!' We were waiting, because she's gotta tell someone 'No.' and she almost had a nervous breakdown," Lionel says of Carrie.
