Blake Shelton Teams Up With Clint Black And Trace Adkins For Ultimate 90s Throwback At ‘Opry 100’

The Grand Ole Opry represents one of the most long-standing, revered traditions in country music. Being inducted is a great honor for any country music star. Performing on its stage is another privilege granted to a select few titans of the music industry. So it's not surprising that when the Opry wanted to mark its 100th anniversary, they threw a big bash. Many of the genre's top performers took to the hallowed stage, including Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Ashley McBryde, and a slew more. One memorable highlight of the festivities, per countryrebel.com, was a 90s throwback performance from Blake Shelton and two of his pals, Clint Black and Trace Adkins.

'Opry 100' Must Have Brought News Of His Own Opry Induction Years Ago Back To Blake Shelton

It may have felt like a memory lane journey to Blake Shelton when he was on the stage for Opry 100. Per the outlet, fifteen years ago, Shelton and Adkins were performing at the Grand Ole Opry to mark its reopening after a flood. Adkins slyly asked Shelton to read a tweet aloud.

Adkins announced, "Hey, y'all know how Blake's always sitting and he's famous for doing the Twitter thing. You know, he's always sending tweets. Well, the Grand Ole Opry sent Blake a tweet tonight. Here, look."

Shelton complied and read the tweet to everyone. It stated, "@blakeshelton, you're invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. See you on 10/23/2010!"

What a dramatic and unforgettable moment that must have been for the singer!
