America is a little sensitive about car vandalism at the moment with the whole Tesla thing going on. So, when Carrie Underwood decided to key a truck before her latest American Idol appearance, a few sensitive people got triggered.
Apparently, singing at the inauguration of the new president of the United States isn't enough of a show of loyalty to the current administration. She has to swear unfailing love to all things US, and currently, that includes Telsa.
Keying the truck, for some, was a little too close to the bone. The wave of vandalism that has swept the US has gotten a lot of Tesla fans a little antsy.
Of course, she was only doing it in reference to her track "Before He Cheats", but that was lost on many. "I "Dug my key into the side, Of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive," the lyrics say. It goes on to talk about emptying shotguns into it too, but thank god she didn't do that. That really would have created an uproar online.
Maybe It's Time To Just Chill Out?
The comment section blew up as Carrie Underwood ran a key along the side of the truck. Anyone would think she had burnt a flag. Some seem to think that Tesla has become as much of a symbol of their country as the Eagle.
Glenda on X wades in on Carrie Underwood and makes her valuable opinion known. "Carrie, with all the vandalism being done to Teslas might not be a good time for this," she berates. Others mirror her opinion, fearing the current Tesla purge.
"Come on Carrie...read the room," one commenter adds. But, in response to most of these comments, people attempt to calm the lunacy that exists in X comment sections. "She doesn't need to do that. You all need to stop taking things so danged seriously for crying out loud. It's not that deep. Do you take everything in life this seriously?"
And it really isn't that deep. Carrie Underwood keying an old truck in reference to a song she sang isn't a a political statement. It's just lighthearted fun.
