The Country Music Association has announced who's made it to the Country Music Hall Of Fame this year, and honestly I'm a little disappointed. How has Clint Black still not made it?!

Every year, the CMA inducts three new country singers to be added to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. There are three categories. The "Modern Era Artist" and "Vintage Era Artist" categories are staples for every year. However, every year, the third category changes according to the rotation .
This year, out of "Recording and/or Touring Musician," "Songwriter," and "Non-Performer," the latter was on.
Here are the artists who made it as inductees this year:
- Veteran Era Artist: June Carter Cash.
- Modern Era Artist: Kenny Chesney.
- Non-Performer: Tony Brown.
A huge congratulations to each entrant, of course. Chesney has certainly had this honor coming for a long time.
However.
I can think of many country artists that are more deserving of the "Veteran Era Artist" category than June Carter Cash.
I know it's sacrilegious to speak ill of Johnny Cash and June Carter, but come on. She was a talented singer, the second half of Johnny Cash, and certainly made waves in the industry.
But I feel like it's outrageous to have June Carter Cash in the Country Music Hall Of Fame before Clint Black.
Clint Black Not Being A Hall Of Famer Already Is Insane
Clint Black has been prolific in the industry for decades. He's a country legend, and is still relevant even today.
Although his last album was in 2020, his last single was last year. He also has almost a million more monthly listeners on Spotify than June Carter Cash.
I just feel like he should have been inducted years ago. I mean, it's Clint Black. He may not have been just as big as peers such as Alan Jackson or Garth Brooks, but to keep almost shoulder-to-shoulder with those two during their primes is praiseworthy enough.
Alas, with only one veteran able to be inducted each year, it must be a tall task to decide which out of the many incredible old artists should make it that year.
But still. Clint Black.
