Morgan Wallen seems to be paying tribute to a country music legend with his new album. I'm The Problem, out on May 16, includes a whopping 37 tracks, one more than his previous record, One Thing At A Time. The record includes a song called "Miami," which seems innocuous enough.

But as Whiskey Riff reveals, a diehard Wallen fan shares on a Facebook fan page for Wallen that the song is registered with ASCAP, and includes eight songwriters. Those songwriters are Wallen, plus Hank Cochran, Dean Dillon, Richard McGill, Blake Pendergrass, Royce Porter, Ernest and Ryan Vojtesak. Three of those writers, namely Cochran Dillon and Porter, wrote Keith Whitley's "Miami, My Amy," making it likely that Wallen is honoring Whitley with the upcoming track.
Wallen has been vocal about his admiration for Whitley, who passed away in 1989. On One Thing At A Time, Wallen included a song called "Keith Whitley," which has lyrics to some of Whitley's biggest hits through the song.
Morgan Wallen's 'I'm The Problem' Record
It's been more than two years since Wallen has released a record. His new I'm The Problem project promises to be more than worth the wait.
"I have been a problem, for sure, and I've got no problem admitting that," Wallen says of the new record. "But there are other sides to me as well. I've spent the last 11 months really trying to figure out, 'Do I still want to be the problem? Is it time to move past that phase in my life?' I think it probably is, and this might be the last time I get a chance to honestly say it."
Wallen has a Top 5 hit with the title track. He has already released "Lies, Lies, Lies," "Love Somebody" and "Smile" as singles from his next record.
"'Love Somebody' is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically," Wallen says of the song. "I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning influences. I'm really excited about this song and pumped that it is out."
"Love Somebody" became a big hit for Wallen, hitting No. 1 in 11 countries.
