Doesn't a graveyard just get you feeling frisky? No? Well, it certainly got this couple feeling some type of way as they were allegedly found making love in a graveyard in Florida on March 26th. Oh, and were promptly arrested.

The Scene
Joseph Brown and Stephanie Wegman were caught by an officer allegedly doing the deed in a cemetery in Florida, reports the Smoking Gun. Which, right off the bat, is insane. I don't know about you folks, but I personally don't get in the mood around dead people. There's just something about a sacred space with people in their final resting place that doesn't do it for me. Plus, fear of being arrested never helps.
Not to mention the whole respect concept just going out the window. Not only was this a cemetery, but also a historical site. It got added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2021. So on top of not caring about the dead people, they also spit (among other things) on history? The more I read about this, the less I understood. But then it all clicked into place.
The Reason
Turns out that Joseph and Stephanie were (allegedly) on drugs! According to the police report, they were only discovered because of their car. Highway Patrol reported that the car was found, "with the windows down and no one in the immediate area,". After a brief 'investigation', the owners were discovered.
So if these two had just decided to spend less time with their clothes off and more time securing their car, they might have gotten away with it.
Inside the car was the real goldmine, though. Allegedly, the cop found Methamphetamine, Xanax, and Oxycodone. And now, all of a sudden, the scene makes sense! If this couple were actually on Meth, then location wouldn't matter at all. We just got lucky that it was nighttime when the escapade began.
I will end this with a PSA. Maybe don't do drugs and make love out in the open on historical sites?
