I kid, of course, but anytime anyone talks about parenthood, the word 'exhausting' gets thrown around a lot. But in an adorable interview with CMT, Parker McCollum has shared that being a parent to his son Major has helped him to relax and unwind.
Major Yancey Tyler McCollum is only 7 months old, being born in August last year. I love seeing the updates he posts to his Instagram of his son, and he's turned out to be a stellar dad.
"Once I'm home, the first thing I'll do is just hang out with him as much as possible. He's still a 'living room baby,' he's just now crawling to the kitchen," McCollum told the outlet. "So he spends a lot of time on the living room, so I'm in there a lot with him."
Being a musician, I'm sure he relishes any time he can get with his son. Being on tour and performing late takes time away from Major, so I suppose it shouldn't be much of a shock that what may be exhausting to most is a precious moment to him.

"I'm really bad at relaxing, I'm not very good at turning it off," he told the outlet. Well, that's fortunate, as parents typically never have any time to 'turn it off,' as it were. But strangely, his son is a big source of relaxation.
"So he has made that a little bit easier... I'm turning it off, relaxing, I can kind of focus my attention on him and being a dad and hanging with Major, so that helps quite a bit," he explained.
When said like that, it's no wonder his son helps him unwind in the evening. There's no audience, no deadlines, no demanding execs. Just him and his adorable son, Major.
So for any struggling parents out there, maybe take up country music. It couldn't hurt to give it a try, right?
