Caramel Apples Inspired By Whiskey Flavors? Have We Gone Too Far?

Or have we not gone far enough? Maybe it's time to start infusing them with whiskey too and making boozy, caramel-covered apples.

The masterminds in Karamell-Kuche at the EPCOT German pavilion have come up with the Whiskey caramel apples. Despite not actually having an alcohol content, they say the caramel is infused.

The small store in EPCOT does everything caramel-inspired. Taking Werthers Originals, they melt them down and coat all sorts in golden sugary goodness. And now, they have started doing whiskey caramel apples too.

The apples won't get you drunk, sadly, but the boozy flavour does come through. They come in two mouth-watering flavours. The first is Peanut Butter Whiskey, and the second is Cinnamon Whiskey. They both sound like a dream if you ask me.

Are The Whiskey Caramel Apples Actually Any Good?

I need to start off by saying that both these whiskey caramel apples are almost $14. Almost nothing, bar being dipped in gold, would make me pay $14 for a caramel apple. That's an extortionate price, so no, neither of these apples is worth paying for.

But, price aside, they do taste good. The Whiskey flavour doesn't come through too strong on either, but it's certainly there. The Cinnamon Whiskey caramel apple reminds me of Christmas. The spices, whiskey, and sweet apple flavours combine to make a festive experience.

However, the Peanut Butter whiskey caramel apple comes into its own. The sweetness of the caramel with the peanut butter reminds me of Reeces pieces. With the addition of the mild whiskey flavouring, it is kicked into a new, slightly alcoholic dimension.

But, as mentioned, they're both almost $14, so I would give them a miss. There are plenty more options for caramel apples in the Karamell-Kuche store. They may not have whiskey, but if you're looking for your $14 worth, go for something a bit more decorative.

Where the whiskey caramel apples are lacking is the usual decoration that goes with the rest of their line. I would opt for something that has had a little more artistry go into it if you're about to spend that much on a caramel-covered bit of fruit.
