Forget Alan Jackson, Zach Top Is Embracing His Inner Jimmy Buffet With Breezy Beach Anthem "Good Times And Tan Lines"

Zach Top has performed a song from his upcoming album, and it's a summertime bop.

The Washington native has been gearing up to release his third album (yes, his third album. Everyone seems to forget about his Zach Top album from 2022). He previously told Spotify that "It'll come out at some point in the summer."

"I'm not sure exactly when yet, but there will be a new record coming this summer."

We don't have a date, but summer is crawling ever closer. To garner excitement, he's performed two songs already, one speculatively called "Flip Flop," and now another everyone's calling "Good Times And Tan Lines."

Early last week, Zach Top had an intimate VIP performance before his concert at The Lyric in Oxford, Mississippi. One of the VIP guests recorded the show, including the part where he performed the upcoming song.

He introduces it as "a goofy little fun summertime song," and that's exactly what it is. It's simple, fun, and easy to listen to, which is exactly what you want on a lazy summer's day.

You can watch the full performance below.

Zach Top's Next Album Will Likely Have A Summer Theme

It's looking like Zach Top's next album will be a summer one. It's releasing in the summer, and the two songs shown so far have summer-related titles. "Flip Flop" and "Good Times And Tan Lines" would fit perfectly side-by-side in a summer record.

Of course, we don't know anything else for certain, but we won't have to wait much longer.

I also reckon that "Good Times And Tan Lines" will be the focus track, and the name of the album.

Considering that "Cold Beer & Country Music" labels both a song and the album, and is a name that lists two things, this will create a theme.

Cold Beer & Country Music followed by Good Times & Tan Lines just makes sense to me. Also, it'll lay the musician up nicely for a summer tour.

I do hope this to be true. I just think this naming convention would be fun, and would distinctify the artist even further.
