Shane Gillis Makes The Masters Sound Like The Worst Place on Earth

You have to really love golf to watch it live. This isn't your ordinary day of putt putt over drinks with your friends. It's the real deal, spanning massive courses, moving at a snail's pace. There's not a ton of action so you really have to live and die by the sport. Additionally, it also seems kind of expensive, especially if you're trying to attend the Masters. You can win a lottery of sorts for only $100 a ticket. But a lot of people are forking over thousands of dollars to watch the most elite golf players in the world compete. However, Shane Gillis insists that you keep your money instead.

Recently, the comedian sat down on his podcast with his friend and fellow standup Matt McCusker to talk about their experience at the Masters. His celebrity status apparently got the pair access to the big event in Augusta, Georgia. However, he makes the boneheaded decision, knowing that he doesn't really care about golf like that. ""I just don't give a f**k about golf. I really wanted to," Shane admits. "You couldn't see a f**king thing. There were some awesome spots, was that 6 that was a Par 3? That was great."

Shane Gillis Recalls His Lousy Time Watching Golf at The Masters in Augusta

Gillis doesn't totally trash the event, admitting that the staff and the people were nice and so was the scenery. But with no cell phones and no good food, he started daydreaming about eating chicken wings elsewhere like one of his friends originally planned. "He was ready to lock down by himself at Hooters the entire day, which I could not have been more jealous," Shane says. "I have to be here, they dropped me off, I gotta stay here until the sun goes down. From noon to 8pm at a Hooters."

"The food can go f*** itself. Everybody is like 'wait until you try the cheese sandwich, it's only a dollar fifty.' Turns out they got the price exactly right. That thing was a dollar f***ing fifty cheese sandwich. Chicken sandwich was freezing cold," Shane adds.
