If only we could go back in time, 21 years ago. In 2004, George Strait joined Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett to perform at Texas Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys for 38 seasons, later demolished in 2010. But for decades, Texas Stadium also hosted several iconic concerts, by Paul McCartney, Genesis, Garth Brooks, and of course, Jackson, Strait and Buffett.

Their shared concert experience was for their Live at Texas Stadium album, where they each performed some songs by themselves, or did duets with various formations. But "Margaritaville" is one of only two songs all three sang together, the other being "Hey Good Lookin'," and what a performance it must have been.
"Margaritaville" by that point was 27 years old. The song, written solely by Buffett, was released in 1977. Although Buffett penned plenty of hits throughout his career, "Margaritaville" is, without question, his most noteworthy.
George Strait Continues His Reign As The King of Country Music
All three singers on Live at Texas Stadium had some of the most legendary careers in music. Buffett tragically passed away in 2023, and Jackson only has two more dates on his calendar before he retires from the road. But Strait, now 72 years old, is continuing his reign as the undisputed King of Country Music. He is still making music and performing, including on his upcoming Stadium Tour.
"I keep trying to slow down a bit but you keep calling me back. Please don't ever stop. I still love it just as much as I always have," the Texan says. "Thank you for an amazing year last year and I can't wait to see you for a few more again this year. Chris will be back and glad to have Little Big Town with us in LA. For the other cities, we've added Parker M. to the show which will be outstanding. Can't wait to see you!!"
Chris Stapleton is joining Strait for all dates. Parker McCollum is joining him for four dates on the East Coast, and Little Big Town will be with him for the one date on the West Coast.
Strait could surpass the record he set last year. In 2024, Strait set a new record, for the most tickets sold at a United States concert.
