Sheryl Crow Reveals Terrifying Moment An Armed Man Broke Into Her Tennessee Property

A man reportedly broke into Sheryl Crow's home after the Country star posted a viral but divisive video of herself waving her Tesla away as a truck removed it from the driveway.

In an interview with Variety on April 30, the award-winning Country artist recalled the terrifying incident at her home. "This feels different because when I came out against Walmart carrying guns, not everybody was armed. And certainly, I didn't live in Tennessee, where everybody is armed," Crow explained.

"So yeah, there was a moment where I actually really felt very afraid. A man got on my property, in my barn, who was armed. It doesn't feel safe when you're dealing with people who are so committed," she added.

Crow famously called out Walmart in her song 'Love is a Good Thing' in 1996. In one section of the song, the lyrics are, "Watch out sister, watch out brother, watch our children as they kill each other, with a gun they bought at the Walmart discount stores." Per an article from the LA Times that year, Walmart refused to sell her album in their stores, branding the lyrics as an "unfair attack."

Despite the incident at her home, Crow told Variety that she does not regret moving from Nashville to Tennessee. When asked if she would post the Tesla video again, knowing what frosty reception it garnered, the singer reportedly paused before saying, "I can't help it. I feel like I'm fighting for my kids."

Why Was Sheryl Crow's Instagram Video Divisive?

Sheryl Crow posted a video of her waving her Tesla goodbye with the caption, "My parents always said... You are who you hang with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla."

Many support the message, while others accused the Country Star of virtue signaling and supporting government waste. However, one message from a sharp-eyed commenter pointed out that the video was not filmed at the same time it was posted. Instagram user Supermarlamortgages replied, "We live pretty close to each other, and that's not a recent video. There are no leaves on the ground like that right now. That's from last fall."

The discovery prompted a separate response from Crow, where she also addressed several other sticking points viewers brought up.
