Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour Hit With Cease And Desist By... The L.A. Sphere?

Beyoncé has already landed in hot water with her Cowboy Carter Tour. In a strange turn, she has received a cease and desist from... the L.A. Sphere?

Cowboy Carter has already landed Beyoncé in a lot of people's bad books. Many country purists see the album as a bastardization of country music. Although Beyoncé previously claimed that she wasn't going for a country album, the prominent themes and collabs were enough to irritate the country scene.

But now the Cowboy Carter beef is mostly behind us, she's gone on tour. Only to almost immediately get landed in legal trouble over it, however.

Is this product cursed? Be it the album or the tour, the Cowboy Carter name is really giving Beyoncé some grief.

The New York Post learned that attorneys for James Dolan, Madison Square Garden boss, have demanded that Beyoncé stop using a particular video in her tour.

An attendee on TikTok thoroughly recorded a tour show last week. A video played on the huge background screen of a giant Beyoncé strolling through Las Vegas. She stops to bend down and pick up a glowing orb of some sort. She taps it while peering into it.

It's a small scene, but something The Sphere, who they believe Beyoncé is referencing here, has not taken kindly to.

Beyoncé Ordered To Remove Clip Referencing The Sphere From Cowboy Carter Tour

Kathleen McCarthy, who works for the firm representing Dolan's Sphere Entertainment Group, wrote a strongly worded letter to Parkwood Entertainment (Beyoncé's production company).

McCarthy pointed out the reference to The Sphere, and explained that the video "has resulted in significant speculation that Beyoncé will end her tour with a Sphere residency."

Beyoncé has been accused of "impermissible use" of the establishment.

"SEG was never asked and the prominent appearance and manipulation of SEG's Sphere venue in the video is unauthorized."

They have given Beyoncé till Monday to stop using the video. How Beyoncé and her team will respond, however, is unknown.

The clear reference to The Sphere spurred two prominent ideas. Many fans believed it was a hint that Beyoncé has a residency at The Sphere in works. Others, believed it was a reference to shade The Sphere.

"I feel like she's saying she's literally bigger than the sphere. Which is true. She needs stadiums," wrote one speculating fan.

Beyoncé and The Sphere previously were in talks about a residency, but Beyoncé demanded that The Sphere be closed a fortnight prior for rehearsals, something that was refused.
