Why Luke Combs Says He Isn't Touring As Much In 2025

Luke Combs has flown to country music relevance over the past few years, and while that is certainly in part due to his musical talent, it is also because of his relentless touring, keeping himself hot on the scene. However, this year Luke Combs is taking a step back and will be more of a homebody for 2025.

Never fear, though, it won't be impossible to see Luke Combs play if you're willing to go to a festival. He has 20 or so planned for 2025, so he won't be completely off the scene. However, this year he is deciding to have a year to focus on other, more important things.

As much as he loves touring, and as prolific he now is because of it, this year is for his family. "I want to be home with my kids," Luke Combs explained to People. "I want to see my kids grow up, and I want them to know that they're important to me."

I don't think anyone can moan at him for wanting to spend some formative time with his wife and kids. Over the years, Luke Combs has missed a few key points in their life while dedicating his time to touring. It's a tricky decision to make, while wanting to ride the high of his success, and also be a hands-on dad.

Luke Combs Is Maximizing Family Time At The Cost Of Touring

Luke Combs spoke in the interview about his kids' knowledge of his career. They're young, with the oldest being almost 3 and the youngest only 20 months old. "My son, Tex, is almost 3 now. He'll recognize my voice on the radio, and he will know 'That's Dad,' but he doesn't understand all of this," he joked.

Luke Combs is cutting back on touring this year so that he is more than just a "voice on the radio." Instead, he's doing what he has to, and dividing his time in favor of being a family man.

"We're only doing festivals this year," he told People. "We got 20-something shows this year. I've already done 10 of them. I got 14 more shows for the rest of the whole year. I want to be home with my kids. I want to see my kids grow up and I want them to know that they're important to me."

I have no doubt that during that time he will continue writing music, and it may even have an influence on his sound. He will be back to touring when he feels ready. After all, what's it all for in the end if it isn't for his loved ones?
