"Nobody has to take their shoes off when they come in the house, and it's nothing fancy," McEntire tells People. "It's just livable. Breathable, and a place to come in and have fun."
McEntire, who also owns a home in Los Angeles, feels equally at home in any of her three residences, thanks to her streamlined decorating.
"Personal memorabilia, things that have stories ... something comfortable," she says of the common thread between all three houses.
McEntire loves all of her homes, especially when people gather in her kitchen. But her favorite place to be is outdoors, which is where she finds inspiration.
"[At] one of our properties, we have two creeks running through," says the singer. "I love to walk in the creek, around the creek, beside the creek because it's moving water. It just represents life, new life, old life, life that's running, life that's moving, traveling, going somewhere. So it's all the aspects of my life is in this creek."
Reba McEntire on 'Happy's Place'
While McEntire likely spends most of her time in Music City when she isn't working, right now her job is requiring her to spend more time in Los Angeles. The 70-year-old is part of the hit NBC comedy, Happy's Place, which was renewed for a second season.
The show reunites her with her former Reba co-star, Melissa Peterman. It also stars her boyfriend of five years, Rex Linn.
"The first time we went into a table read, it was very nostalgic," McEntire recalls to People. "It was very emotional. I mean, see, I'm getting choked up right now. That's the way it was for all of us to be so blessed. If you get one really good sitcom that lasts for six seasons, you think, 'Man, I've got the golden ring. That'll be it. Probably never do it again, because that's magic in a bottle.' We got it again, and we realize it."
