Every so often someone will come along and year after year dominate a category of a competition. Whether they deserve it or not, it results in a very boring event, and people complain. This year, at the ACM awards, Chris Stapleton took home the Male Artist of The Year award once again, and everyone is kind of over it.

With a sporting competition, the winner is not an opinion. Someone is fast, stronger, or wiser and wins by points or distance. However, music awards are judged by a panel. Sure, they take into consideration things like sales and tours. But, when it comes down to it, the winner is based on how the panel feels.
Once again, Chris Stapleton has taken home ACM Male Artist of The Year, and it's getting a bit tired. No doubt, he's a great artist, but come on. Either he has some dirt on the judges, or the judges are just too lazy to listen to someone new.
With the amount of new music coming out every year, and established artists making waves, there is always someone else as an option for the award. But, the ACM judges just seem hung up on Stapleton and unwilling to move on.
ACM Losing Loyalty After Five Male Artist Awards
When an awards ceremony like the ACM starts constantly plugging one artist, people lose interest. The whole idea of an award ceremony is to see someone earn something, or shock the crowds with a surprise win. But, with this year marking the fifth time Chris Stapleton has taken home Male Artist, the intrigue is gone.
"I'm a fan of him but same. Even when he wins he don't understand why the awards don't go to someone else. He's so humble he wants to see the others shine," one commenter adds. He's not wrong either. This isn't on Stapleton. The man is a humble artist. He must be feeling just as bad as the people being denied it at this point.
