KFC And McDonald's Are Going To War Over Chicken Strips

99.9% of the time I will say that war is an unnecessary, barbaric, and foul thing that has no place in civilized society, but sometimes there is an exception. KFC and Mcdonalds are throwing down over chicken strips, and I feel that this is one of those few instances that war is permissible.

There are a few players on the chicken strips field of war, but few have a rivalry, like McDonalds and KFC. Sure, KFC are the kings of chicken when it comes to the top players in the fast-food chain world. But McDonalds have certainly made waves with their own contributions.

I never used to consider McDonalds when grabbing chicken, but in recent years they've made improvements. KFC knows this, and they have made their thoughts clear. It all started with an undeniably good promotion.

Initially, everyone who is a rewards member of KFC could claim 5 pieces of Original Recipe tenders for $5. That's a pretty attractive deal, and turned a few heads. But they weren't finished. KFC's U.S. president Catherine Tan-Gillespie had something to say, and it was absolutely directed at McDonald's chicken strips.

"Why settle for a tender from a burger chain when you can get a deal on what we believe is the best tasting tender, from the OG of fried chicken?"

KFC Has Confidence In Chicken Strip Superiority Over McDonalds

The KFC chicken strip promotion was an attempt to draw fast food fans away from McDonalds and remind them just how good those 11 herbs and spices are. I have to admit, when KFC is good, it is great. When it's bad, it's disgusting though. McDonalds, for me, wins on consistency even if it fails on flavor.

Tan-Gillespie has confidence that the promotion will be enough, though. "With this deal, we're giving our customers a reason to try the finger lickin' good flavor of our tenders and judge for themselves," she said.

I'm gonna let the two mega fast-food chains duke it out, though. Personally, if I'm craving fried chicken, I'll leave these two alone. I prefer fried chicken from the little independent places. Sure, it may cost a little bit more, but you can always taste the love.
